Just wanted to share this post that someone shared on my friends' list on Facebook. Hope everyone enjoys it.

Fearless
Fearless: adj. - without fear; afraid of nothing; brave; daring. SYN. intrepid, courageous, dauntless
I read an article on yesterday from the August issue of Essence entitled "The Art of Living Fearlessly." The article spoke of living a life where there are no boundaries, no limits to what a person can do. Some of the subjects of the article (whose names have been changed) spoke of how they had to conquer fear in order to live a fearless life. What I liked about what one of them said was that she did not want to have a life of regrets. I began to think, while reading this article, how my own life is full of regrets up to this point - regrets of missed opportunities, regrets of not believing in myself, regrets of not taking a chance, regrets of listening to others when I should have listened to my inner voice, and regrets of not starting my businesses sooner. As the list continued on & in more details, I decided that I will not have anymore regrets. I don't want to get to the end of my life and wondered whether I could have had that dream home, that dream car (Remini Red Range Rover Sport HSE), have those dream business relationships, or a list of other "what ifs". As the article stated, "There are no guarantees-but life is about having big dreams, taking the risk to pursue those dreams, and then seeing them through to the end." How would you live your life fearlessly from this day forward? Until next time.

"Independence"
Independence: n. - the condition of being independent; freedom from the control, influence, support, or help of others
As we celebrate this Independence Day, we honor & celebrate those who have sacrificed for us to enjoy this freedom. As many of us are getting together for cookouts and family gatherings, let's not forget the true meaning of independence. Many have died for the opportunity for us to worship the way we want, to have the freedom to be anything we want, and to be able to do anything we want; however we want, whenever we want, wherever we want.
As I reflect on this Independence Day, I'm looking inward to what does independence mean for me. What type of independence am I celebrating? I'm celebrating the independence of being a business owner, freedom from the control of others' thoughts and opinions, freedom from excess weight, freedom from dead relationships, freedom from brokenness, freedom from religion, freedom from lack of self-knowledge, and freedom from lack & poverty. These types of freedom can only be obtained through self-evaluation, discipline, and the desire to own your own destiny. Think about your own independence day. What individual independence are you celebrating today? Please share. Until next time.

"Resilience"
Resilience: n. the power of springing back; Figurative, the power of recovering readily; buoyancy; cheerfulness
Often in life there are circumstances and situations that occur that will have your head spinning. You wonder "What happened?", "Did I miss something?", "Who the hell are you?", and "How did I get here?" It's often not easy to answer these and many other questions or to even assess the situation with a level head. We frequently go along in life just living, existing and not being fulfilled; then, you get sideswiped or knocked off your ass for you to get a wake up call. What is it that you need to spring back from, to recover from - the loss of a job, a broken marriage or relationship, the death of a loved one, insecurity, low self-esteem?
Whatever IT is, know that you have the power within to be resilient. Resiliency doesn't come from someone else, a job, a relationship, or things. It is a deep knowing from within that no matter what you've gone through in your life, YOU have the power to bounce back. I learned that myself, the hard way, but it was a lesson worth learning. Until next time.

"Hope"
Hope: n., v. - a feeling that what one desires will happen; syn. expectation, anticipation, optimism; the ground for expecting something desired; promise: to desire very much; to look with expectation
I recently read several articles concerning the outlook of the economy, jobs, and the housing market. When reading these articles, one cannot help but wonder when will all of this end, when will things get better for everyone. There has been several opinions, reports, and suggestions as to why things are the way they are, but I haven't heard the one thing that makes the difference-taking personal responsibility. When I look at taking personal responsibility for my life in whatever condition it may be in, it gives me hope that I can change what I don't like. My life is not controlled by someone else, (despite what we may think), it is controlled by my thoughts and actions. Because of this I now have the hope I need to change my situation for the better. Many people are hoping for things to get better, for circumstances and situations to turn around, but the greatest change is in thyself, where true hope lies. The hope that we are all seeking lies within and only then will things begin to get better.

"Possibilities"
Possibility; pl. - possibilities: that can be: that can be done; that can happen; that can be true or a fact; chosen, etc., properly
As a new month ushers in, I am reflecting over the past month of goals accomplished & goals not accomplished. I was feeling a little discouraged by some of the results until my king consort, Arthur, reminded me to focus on the possibilities. I thought about what he said and realized he was right (something I don't admit too often). The possibilities of what is to come is what keeps many of us going when we want to give up. Possibilities are what can be done, what can happen, what is to happen. When we look at where we are, we cannot let that discourage us from where we're going. The possibilities of what can happen should propel us to consistently move forward in spite of. When I look at the possibilities of where my life is going & how my businesses are going to grow, the possibilities are endless. Look for the possibilities in life & watch where it takes you.

"Passion"
Passion: a very strong feeling; emotion; a very strong liking; a thing for which a strong liking is felt.
It's been a while since I've posted anything-most of that has been because there have been a lot of things going on in my life personally. What I realized; however, is that when there is something you are passionate about or have a strong liking for, then nothing will deter you from that. My passion is to be my own boss (and I have several businesses I'm working on) and I allowed people and circumstances to interfere with that. As I'm sitting here on this beautiful Sunday morning typing this, I know that nothing and no one should stop me from what I'm most passionate about and they no longer will stop me.
Ask yourself, what are you really passionate about and if it really is important to you, what are you doing about it to see it to it's completion? Until next time.

"Your vision becomes clear when you look inside your heart. Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens." Carl Jung
Someone shared this quote on Facebook & I had to put it on my blog. For as long as I could remember, everything taught to me was about looking on the outside, not the inside. Everything else outside of you was more important than what was on the inside was the message I received. We surround ourselves with noise, people, and useless things just so we can't be alone with ourselves. I'm learning now that being alone with myself is the best gift I can give myself. I'm learning more about what I want & what I don't want, who I want to be around & who I don't want to be around, what I will accept & what I won't accept. As the quote says, I'm finally awakening.

"Vision"
Vision: n., v. - the power of seeing; sense of sight; the power of perceiving by imagination or by clear thinking; something seen in the imagination, in a dream, in one's thought, or the like
"Without a vision the people perish.." Proverbs 29:18
Many people talk about doing things but have no plans or vision on where to begin. How can you get from point A to point B without a plan? How can you get to your destination without a vision? Do you have a vision for yourself, your future, your family, your business, your relationships? Every successful person had a vision before they acquired success. What will be the vision for your future? Ignite the power of your vision. When that vision is perceived by your imagination, write it down & run with it.
"Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it." Habakkuk 2:2

"Change"
Change: v.- to make different; alter; modify; to put (something) in place of another; take place of; substitute; to put a clean or fresh covering on
Every new year people resolve to make changes to their lives - to lose weight, to increase finances, to leave "dead" relationships, to eliminate drama from their lives, etc. Where do these changes come from? Do we say we want change because everyone else is doing it or because it sounds good coming out of our mouths? True change takes place on the inside - in our minds and in our hearts. The only lasting change that takes place first has to take place from within. Go within to see what changes you have to make & make those changes based upon yourself & no one else."
""Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything." George Bernard Shaw

New Year! New Focus!
"Most people's lives are a direct reflection of their peer groups." Tony Robbins What does your life reflect as you think about this quote? Who have you been listening to, associating with, following, etc.? As this new year begins, what will be your associations that will bring you to the life you desire? In order for us to live the best life possible, we have to be careful of those who are in our inner circle. Let your associations reflect where you're going, not where you've been. Let's make 2011 the beginning of the best years of our lives.
